Tips for Losing Weight that No One Listens To Pt. 1
Author: Kasan Groupe
There are lots of novelty weight loss programs and ideas out there that guarantee results if you eat this or don’t eat that, but the fact is that there are several basic tips to losing weight that, if you don’t follow, no matter what weight loss program you are on, it won’t be successful. If you don’t want to break every wooden bar stool you sit on, here is a list a few weight loss tips that are proven to be successful yet people often forget or ignore when they are starting their diet.
Stop drinking soda
This is a simple and effective tip. Soda has hundreds of empty, useless calories that do nothing to promote weight loss or healthy living. Dropping soda out of your diet and drinking almost exclusively water is one of the best things you can do to start your weight loss diet off to a good start and it is a good habit to get yourself into for life. With your body made up of almost 90% water, it seems pretty obvious that drinking lots of water and less soda would be beneficial to your health, right? Nonetheless, some people are addicted to the flavor and caffeine in m any soda drinks and find it hard to switch over to “boring” water. If this is your issue than make the transition slowly with flavored water or energy water. These drinks often still have lots of empty calories but they at least don’t have as much as soda.
Drink green tea
Studies of green tea have shown it to be one of the most powerful and effective antioxidant drinks and it has numerous beneficial qualities that not only promote weight loss but have been linked to cancer recovery and prevention. The fact is that you can’t go wrong with green tea. Some people complain about the taste, which can be an aquired taste, but if it is a problem there are a number of green tea packages that mix in a hint of honey, jasmine or orange, to give it less of a harsh green tea taste. If you’d prefer to take your green tea in capsule form, that can be effective as well, but studies have shown that by drinking green tea you get more of the benefits of the plant. If you are a habitual coffee drinker try to cut yourself off after one or two cups in the morning (if any at all) and switch to green tea to get the powerful antioxidant into your system. While some are now saying that green tea’s near-magical properties have been overhyped, those critics still cannot find any negative reason not to make green tea a large part of your diet.

Is Being Overweight Causing Your Back Pain?
Author: Max Cook
Many of us struggle with weight loss on a regular basis but the fact of the matter is, it may be more than a simple beauty issue. Many people who are overweight experience low back pain and are hurting needlessly, simply because they are having a difficult time in losing the weight that they are carrying. The fact of the matter is, if you are carrying around an additional weight in the front of your body, your back is going to suffer as a result.
The main reason why this is the case is because the spine was not designed to carry a load that is heavier than our body at its natural, lean weight. As you put on additional pounds, the spine begins to distort and to compress, causing a lot of pain that you are experiencing. This may also have an effect on your pelvis, tilting it forward and perhaps making it pinch your sciatic nerve. That is one of the main reasons why people who are overweight tend to have problems with their lower back, either because of sciatica or because of the distorting of the spinal column.
For anyone who is experiencing this problem then there is really only one thing that you can do in order to overcome it. You should get rid of some of the additional weight that you have been carrying around and your spine will quickly ease up and go back into its regular position. Unfortunately, weight loss is not something that is simple and it is a bit time consuming but the benefits of losing weight far outweigh any inconvenience that you may experience from the effort.
Two things that you can do in order to slim down naturally are to get a little bit of exercise and to modify your diet so that you are taking in fewer calories than what you are using throughout the day. Become more physically active slowly, especially if you’re having problems with lower back pain. It’s also wise to do stretching exercises as well as concentrating on your core body muscles so that it will help to strengthen this area of your body, further reducing the amount of pain that you are experiencing. Within just a week or two of being on this weight loss program, you should begin to notice differences in the way that you feel.

Getting angry at work can be good for you…
Author: Medimanage
“There’s a time and a place for anger, where nothing else will do.” Malcolm X
Yes, you read it right! Anger can actually be good for you. But hold on, if you thought you could simply give a piece of your mind to that colleague, or show an eye to your junior for a silly mistake or even tell your boss how you actually think of him, and all of this would be beneficial to you, then Ahem! Ahem! This is not what we are saying,…
Anger, though has commonly negative connotations, can drive success only when used positively and in the right manner. And when it is given a positive color, its definition changes to a more refined form of anger that actually means “drive”, “passion”, “conviction”, “determination”.…..
Re-positioning anger: Let’s see how….
How can something that is innately negative in nature, be good for us and more so at work? Well, here is the catch! First thing first, anger can be amazingly benefitting when it is driven the right way. Trust me, anger when “re-positioned” can actually spell success for you.
Instead of venting your angry feelings in thermonuclear outbursts, or blocking them, thereby creating internal stress, learn to turn your anger into a motivational tool which will help you become successful, creative, and ambitious at work and you can pursue your goals more vigorously.
Using your anger as a positive tool, can make your worklife much more exciting and interesting than ever. Among other well-known scholars, James Averill, PhD, University of Massachusetts, psychologist in his studies of everyday anger in the 1980s found that angry episodes helped strengthen relationships.
- Anger builds creativity:
It is anger that makes us question stereotypes, it is our resentment with the traded path, that sometimes we want to break new grounds and discover new ways of making profits and thereby it keeps us thinking and our creativity alive! Use your hot mind constructively and you will build bridges around the world!
- Anger builds communication:
It is your anger with what you think is going wrong in the office and you want to speak out. This spark catches a fire and you are the torch bearer of revolution that has managed to break an age old unnecessary tradition in the office and has served good to so many of your colleagues who could not gather the courage. Anger gives you the voice to need to bring about that positive change. Again, this is anger used positively.
- Anger brings in change:
Wise leaders once said, “it is the anger that speaks and that brings in a positive change. Anger can change governments and anger can bring justice“. So, is true for your workplace. It is when you feel that something is going wrong and you are angry about it, that you need to drive that anger positively by working towards bringing about the change you want to see.
When can it get dangerous??
When anger devastates, kills creativity and seeks absolute obedience, resents discussions and mars a friendly atmosphere, it is destructive anger. For instance:
Being bossy: Getting angry on your juniors for a mistake they have committed will not always bring positive results. It may instead repel them, and for them to understand the gravity of the situation, they need to be explained with peace and understanding so that they can reason it out for themselves.
Can’t gel with colleagues: You claim to be a perfectionist and detest when your colleagues find it hard to keep pace with your thoughts and ideas. This gets you restless and then angry. You will have to be more patient and considerate while you acknowledge the fact that different minds, and abilities make up for a team.
Resignation through email: A heated argument with your boss, has made you so angry, that in an impulse you decide to leave the firm and email him your resignation. This kind of impulsive reactions need to be controlled and the best way is to first acknowledge the fact that you are angry and then immediately make peace with yourself!
However, many would argue that it is not within them to control their impulses. When faced with a situation, they unknowingly, and in fact, inevitably end up being angry and short tempered. It just comes unconsciously and later they regret their actions but by that time it is too late. To read more about Getting angry at work can be good for you….
